NDTC Real Talk About... Voting Rights

Everyone is talking about voter suppression and voting rights legislation on a federal level right now, but voting rights isn’t just a national issue, it’s a local one.

State, local, and municipal elected officials and community leaders impact voting rights very directly in the communities they represent. No matter what your role in the political ecosystem: candidate, campaign staff or volunteer, or local leader, how you talk about voting rights and what you do to help fight for those rights will affect your campaign and community.

Join our panel of participants, including:

Rep. Joyce Beatty (OH-3), Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus

Jasmine Burney-Clark, Political Consultant and of Founder Equal Ground

Melissa Goldberg, NDTC Trainer and Training Director for the Ohio Democratic Party

They’ll dig into this crucial topic, discuss how voting rights legislation will change your campaign, and how you can adapt your campaign message and plan to empower voters and fight voter suppression in your community.

About the Real Talk Series: Real Talk About… is a monthly panel where we pull in Democratic leaders from across the political ecosystem to talk about real issues affecting candidates, campaigns, and communities across the nation. These panel discussions are unscripted and bring you the “real talk” from the best and brightest thought leaders and change makers in Democratic politics.
